Voted APCA's Spokenword Artist of the Year 2014, 2016 & 2018, Storyteller Odd?Rod proved that his message is more important than his words by leaving audiences across the country inspired to push beyond their adversities. Coming from a home with a drug-addicted mother and an absent father, Rod fell into depression as a teen before the death of his brother caused him to fight for his own life. Documenting his journey in a series of poems proved to be lifesaving for him. He has made it his mission to help others. His transparent storytelling style of performing and rhythmic cadence captivates listeners and provides an in-depth look at surviving traumatic events using dedication and determination. The University of Alabama invited him to earn a fully-funded master's degree after his two TEDx speeches. He graduated in 2021, and now returns to the stage with an even better story.
