Darius Parker

Darius Parker is a Black, Queer, Scholar, Activist, Poet, and Visionary based in Chicago, Illinois. He’s a graduate of Northern Illinois University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and a minor in Black Studies. He’s the Director of Operations of the Kuumba Lynx Performance Ensemble where he’s toured multiple plays and performances worldwide. Darius was a 2010 Brave New Voices youth slam poet, served on the alumni festival Future Corps since 2016, and was the 2020 Co-Festival Director. Now a veteran slam poet and Teaching Artist, Darius hopes to empower youth through the arts and to make any experience involving youth, art, and poetry one infused with love liberation and truth. Darius received a Master of Critical Ethnic Studies from DePaul University in the Spring of 2020.
