Regional Professional & Student Development Coordinator
Reports to:  Regional Advisory Committee Coordinator and/or APCA Executive Director
Term of Office: One year   Number of Positions: 1
APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

Qualifications: The Regional Professional & Student Development Coordinator must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience with the APCA, as well as, work experiences, education, personal skills and characteristics in the planning, recruiting, program development, meeting facilitation, delegation, volunteerism and organizing of relevant campus activities with college, schools, and universities.  They must provide a letter of financial and time-off support from the college they currently represent.

General Responsibilities: the Regional Professional & Student Development Coordinator of the RAC serves as a liaison to discuss the educational and professional development needs of campus activities staff, student programmers with the APCA Office. They help to insure the active participation of the current membership professionals & students in APCA educational development efforts, and help to design APCA conference experiences and educational system policies and procedures.  They also assist with the continued support, recruitment, and development of new possible professionals & students to be active in the APCA educational programs at all APCA events.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Attend all the Regional Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Assist the APCA Office with the recruitment of presenters and development of educational sessions at their region's conferences.
  • They must be able to attend (with financial support & time-off from their represented college) the Regional Conference & National Conferences.
  • Submit a semi-annual report, (due February 1st & October 1st) the RAC-4 (Regional Advisory Committee – form 4, to be filled out online at www.apca .com)
  • Communicates pre-conference information about APCA's educational sessions and programs to the regional membership.
  • Helps organize and mentor the students that volunteer to assist with their regional conference.
  • Assist the APCA Office with the promoting, recruiting, and expansion of APCA to colleges, schools, universities and professionals in the states within their region.
  • Assists the APCA Office with the recruitment, developing, and retention of new regional advisory committee officers.
  • Must submit one article per year for publication in the APCA Student Activities Journal.
  • Undertakes any additional activities as assigned by the Regional Coordinator.
