Articles:

2009 was overall a really good year for movies and many have asked me for my year end list as they say they use for their Netflix list or take with them to Blockbuster..so here we go!

Movies that I have heard were very good that I did not see among last year's offerings were:   "The Messenger" / " Me and Orson Wells" / " The Last Station"

This is not any kind of Oscar prediction ..just a list of the films released in 2009 that were my overall favorites and that I'd recommend to you if you get a chance to see on cable, video rental store, Netflix, etc..

MY TOP 5 of the year

  • The Hurt Locker
  • Avatar
  • Up
  • 500 Days of Summer
  • Inglorious Basterds

Honorable Mentions.. Movies I really think are definitely worth seeing ..just not in my Top 5 of year

  • The Blind Side
  • District 9
  • Invictus
  • Precious
  • State of Play
  • Star Trek
  • It's Complicated
  • A Single Man
  • Julie and Julia
  • Up in the Air
  • Zombieland
  • An Education
  • Brothers
  • Crazy Heart
  • The Hangover
  • He's Just Not That Into You

I Love You, Man

Other movies..while not in my "Best" of 2009, definitely worth catching if you can… ( could be for a particular performance, etc)

  • Duplicity
  • Wolverine
  • Everybody's Fine
  • The Princess and the Frog
  • Latest Harry Potter film
  • Pirate Radio
  • Coraline
  • Fantastic Mr. Fox
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Taken
  • Drag Me To Hell
  • Two Lovers
  • Extract
  • Sunshine Cleaners
  • Monsters vs. Aliens
  • Whip It
  • The Vampire's Assistant
  • Nine
  • The Taking of Pelham 123
  • Funny People
  • Angels and Demons
  • Away We Go
  • The Informant

Hoping for a great 2010.. first two I want to see is Martin Scorese's "Shutter Island" and the new film " The Ghost Writer" with Ewan McGregor , Pierce Brosnan & Kim Cattrell.

Looking forward to a great Oscar show on Sunday night !

Take care!
